Let’s explore together the icon of Rome and one of the wonders of the world: the Colosseum, or rather, the Flavian Amphitheater, inaugurated by Emperor Titus in 80 AD. with 100 days of shows.
In this 3-hour tour we will go back in time talking about gladiators, hunting games with wild and exotic beasts, naval battles, executions….
We will walk along ancient corridors breathing the history of Rome; we will observe the arena, the undergrounds, the marble remains of what was already considered an unparalleled architectural jewel at the time of the inauguration.
After visiting the Colosseum, our journey will continue to discover the origins of Rome: we will discover the Palatine Hill, the first and most important of the seven hills of the ancient city.
I will show you the so-called Romulean huts and we will talk about the legend of the foundation, the she-wolf, and Romulus and Remus.
We will walk among the remains of the sumptuous houses of the emperors; we will look out onto the Circus Maximus from a breathtaking terrace, and then discover the Horti Farnesiani, a Renaissance pearl set in the imperial ruins, unknown to most.
As a great final we will go down to the Roman Forum, the political, religious and economic heart of Rome for centuries and centuries.
Among the wonders kept here stand out the Temple of Antoninus Pio, the temple of Romulus, the temple of Vesta, the House of the Vestals and the Curia Iulia …… But surprises are endless….
